Creative Painting Courses Near Levi – Winter Evenings at Jokimaja
Our artist Katharina has decorated the rooms of Jokimaja with unique murals inspired by the landscapes and seasons of Lapland. On selected evenings, she invites you to painting courses in the cozy lounge.
At the long wooden table, small artworks are created in a relaxed atmosphere, which each guest can take home as a personal piece of Lapland. No previous knowledge is necessary – just being open to try is enough.
It is a creative experience making another winter evening at Jokimaja unforgettable.
Experience Sámi Culture – Visit to a Reindeer Farm
A day at Jussi Drova’s reindeer farm brings you closer to the world of the Sámi people. After a ride in a traditional wooden sled, you will find yourself in the middle of a herd of reindeer, feeding the animals and learning fascinating information about their lives in harmony with the seasons.
You can also try your hand at traditional lassoing before the cozy Kota invites you to warm up – with reindeer sausages, pancakes and hot beverages. An authentic experience that brings Sámi culture to life.

Kota Dinner in Lapland – An Unforgettable Experience by the Open Fire
Enjoy a traditional Kota dinner in a rustic atmosphere: choose between a vegetarian stew with homemade rolls or grilled reindeer sausages along with cake, tea, hot berry punch, and marshmallows to be roasted over the fire.
With a bit of luck, the Northern Lights may dance in the sky – a sight you can freely enjoy being at the Kota dinner. The evening can be booked individually or as a group and is a special experience in Lapland not only for hotel guests but also for non-resident visitors.
Traditional Wooden Sauna by the Riverbank – Pure Relaxation
Our rustic wooden sauna is located right on the banks of the Ounasjoki River and accommodates up to 10 people. You can book the sauna individually or as a group, enjoying a piece of true Finnish tradition in complete privacy.
A separate wooden house with a sauna, shower, and relaxation room provides soothing warmth and cozy breaks.
Towels, shower gel, and bathrobes are included – along with water and small snacks like chips or nuts. Whether after a winter day in the snow or as a special experience with friends: the Jokimaja sauna is the perfect place to relax, and with a bit of luck, you might even see the Northern Lights outside by the river.
